Palekh, 1st half of 19th c., museum quality, 90,6 x 70,8 cm // Paintings of the Pentecost event go back to the description in the Acts of the Apostles (2:1-13). The crowned figure below is the personification of the cosmos, holding on a white cloth the scrolls of the different languages â€‹â€‹in which the apostles spoke after the descent of the Holy Spirit.
